We recently refurbished a house bathroom in Horsforth, Leeds in order to bring it up to date.

Bathroom prior renovation

Dark bathroom

This customers bathroom was lovely and big but felt a bit dark and small considering its large dimensions.

Bathroom without a separate shower

We helped the customer come up with a plan to make the space seem bigger, whilst also adding a bath whilst removing a bidet that was no longer needed.

Bathroom after renovation

Travertine Tiling

The new bathroom featured a bath set into the corner of the room, which necessitated squaring the corner of the room off.

Corner bath

A nice close coupled toilet with a soft close seat was also installed.

Horsforth bathroom

We also repaired the floor where necessary and fitted a nice, cushioned vinyl floor that complimented the travertine effect ceramic tiles that we sourced for the customer from our local tile supplier.

Basin vanity unit

We also fitted a beautiful floor mounted vanity unit from our local bathroom supplier.

When choosing her bathroom suite customer was free to browse the extensive showroom of our local bathroom supplier in Leeds before making her choice.

Wall to Wall Shower Enclosure

At the other end of the room we utilised the large width of the room by installing a wall to wall shower enclosure.

Shower Recess

As the room was ever so slightly wider than a standard sized shower tray we chose to build out one wall slightly (by a few inches) which allowed us to fit a small alcove for storage of shower items (shampoo bottles etc).

Thermostatic Mixer Shower

We specified and installed a thermostatic mixer shower( that we knew to be a quality product as we have fit the same model many times before) that would work well with the customers heating system.

How we helped this customer (and could maybe help you)

Even when installing a simple new bathroom such as this, many trades(men) are required:

  • Labourers and /or a plumber to remove the old suite and strip out all the old tiles, floor coverings etc.
  • Plumber to fit pipework for the new bathroom suite and reposition / fit suite items as required
  • Tiler to prepare & tile the walls
  • Vinyl fitter to prepare & fit the new vinyl flooring
  • Plasterer to prepare & skim the walls & ceiling ready to be painted
  • Painter to paint the newly skimmed ceiling with anti mould bathroom paint
  • Joiner to build the studwork behind the bath & the shower alcove in this instance
  • Electrician to fit the ceiling spotlights, an extractor fan, an LED mirror unit & an electric radiator.

That’s 8 separate trades for one bathroom! (though there is always some crossover between the trades)

More importantly though, these trades all need someone (the lynchpin) in charge to pull the whole project together.

That’s exactly what we do – project managed bathroom installations from start to finish.
